MICHAEL DAWSON ACCUSED OF DISINTEREST IN FOREST DERBY

Posted on November 30, 2019 in Millwall

Nottingham Forest faced Derby County over the weekend and defeated their opponents to serve as a major boost going forward but one major boost was the return of Michael Dawson to the squad. This is one the back of an injury he sustained in September.

Forest coach Sabri Lamouchi made sure all his egg wasn’t in one basket against Derby as the Italian refused to include Dawson into the starting eleven. The coach felt there was no need to expose a player that is just coming back from the treatment table into an unnecessary risk.

The former Tottenham Hotspur captain has had his old body calling hm to give the professional game a rest owing to the fact that he may be abusing the luck defenders get to play as much as they want to till they are forty. He has missed five of Forest’s last games and may be set to miss more until he recovers fully.

Posted on October 8, 2019 in Millwall

Luton Town faces Millwall faces in a game that could have big consequences for both teams this season. Both teams have not had the greatest start in what could be a long season flirting with the relegation places.

Luton currently sit 18th on the table with 10 points and currently leads Millwall only on goal difference. Luton meanwhile have to battle hard this season with the club’s defensive record currently porous and this could be the game they solely need to pick up valuable points.

The winner of this game could move to as high as 14th position in the table and the home fans will be out in full voice to cheer their team. (more…)

Harris insists he was never in the running for the Huddersfield job

Posted on September 27, 2019 in Millwall

Millwall manager Neil Harris has said that he was never in the running to take over as the Huddersfield Town head coach. The Lions boss was regarded as one of the favourites to succeed the sacked Jan Siewert at the Terriers before Danny Crowley took up the role following a successful three-year stint with Lincoln City.

Speaking in a press conference, Harris acknowledged that the situation was bizarre after he was placed at the top of the odds lists. He added that there was nothing in terms of him joining Huddersfield and stated that Crowley and his brother Nicky deserve the opportunity after excelling in the lower leagues, he told: “That was bizarre. The first I knew about it I was sitting in the back of a taxi in London. There was nothing in it. Danny Cowley has taken the job and good luck to him and Nicky, they deserve the opportunity at that level.”

Neil Harris unhappy with Millwall’s performance through the campaign

Posted on June 10, 2019 in Millwall

Millwall head coach Neil Harris has said that the club have endured a difficult 2018/19 season with many of the players disappointing with their performances. The south London side finished as the eighth-best club during the previous campaign but they have simply failed to replicate the showing this time around where they have narrowly missed out of relegation.

Speaking to reporters, Harris stressed that he won’t entertain the current level of performances from the team, considering the club could be under the risk of relegation next term, he said: “The level of performance this season from some individuals has been nowhere near good enough. There will be a lot of changes this summer. Some players have let me down and let the football club down. There is a lot that has come out that has made it difficult for us. We came eighth last season on the smallest budget in the division. We have got no chance next year if we do not improve.”

Millwall boss indicates fatigue has nothing to do with late goals conceded

Posted on May 6, 2019 in Millwall

Millwall boss Neil Harris has said that the team’s downfall in the closing stages of matches have nothing to do with fitness concerns. The south London side recently shipped their 17th goal after the 80th minute of Championship games and that cost them a point during a hard-fought encounter against Leeds United.

Speaking after the 2-1 defeat, Harris indicated that fatigue should not hamper the performances towards the end, but one can attribute the mental strength towards the outcome, he said: “It certainly shouldn’t be fatigue but whether it’s tired minds, that’s different. It won’t be tired legs, sports science plays a huge part at our football club as it does across world football these days. “We know where the players are at stats-wise, minutes-wise, training-wise. It’s not fatigue in the legs. How do you define human error in any industry? We gave a poor second goal away, even if you have to give credit to Leeds and the way they play.”

Neil Harris admits Millwall will track results from Championship this week

Posted on April 6, 2019 in Millwall

Millwall manager Neil Harris has said that it will be difficult to ignore the Championship results for the weekend despite their FA Cup game against Brighton & Hove Albion. The South London side are currently just one point ahead of the drop zone but they could drop into the bottom three, if the matches don’t go their way.

Speaking to reporters, Harris acknowledged that it is difficult to ignore the scores in the current era where there is social media and Sky Sports around the corner, he said: “It’ll be tough not to look at the results, when you’ve got social media, Sky Sports and whatever else. Between now and the end of the season, that’s what it is. The first thing the players did when they came in was look at the Rotherham score.

Posted on March 9, 2019 in Millwall

Millwall manager Neil Harris, is hoping defender James Meredith will be fit for this weekend’s clash against Norwich. Murray Wallace was taken off in last Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Hull City. The Scottish defender has started at left back in recent weeks, scoring goals in the FA Cup against Everton and AFC Wimbledon. But he had to be subbed off in the first half on the tie, itcould be just timely for Meredith makes a return from his knock to face Norwich, who are currently top of the Championship.

Neil said Conor McLaughlin is out of the weekend, but admitted that James Meredith possibly has a chance of being fit. He also gave an update on Mahlon, who he said is ill. So they will have to see how it goes, but the player might not make the trip.
