Fleetwood Town manager Simon Grayson is delighted with the return of Northern Ireland international defender Conor McLaughlin to the club. He has been impressed with the contributions of the ex-Sunderland player since his transfer was officially approved by the EFL (English Football League) at the start of last month.

Northern Ireland defender Conor McLaughlin has returned to League One side Fleetwood Town after he penned a short-term contract. Conor McLaughlin was a free agent when he was snapped up by Fleetwood Town. The right-back had become a free agent on the back of his release by Sunderland. He left the Black Cats in the summer at the end of his contractwith the club.

Conor McLaughlin represented the various Northern Ireland youth teams on several occasions before he made his debut for the senior team. The fullback has a record of one goal in 43 games for the Northern Ireland senior team.
Experienced right-back Conor McLaughlin began his national team career with the Northern Ireland u-16s and he went on to play nine times for the team. McLaughlin also represented the Northern Ireland u-17 team on nine occasions. He graduated to the u-19s where he scored once in 14 games before playing seven times for the u-21 within a period of two years. Not only have theĀ Gunners have decided to tie down the youngster to a new long-term contract extension, but they have also decided to hand him the number 10 jersey in a bid to convince him that he is such an important player for them and they have him in their plans for the future. Smith-Rowe was a huge summer transfer target for English Premier League club Aston Villa as the Villans tried to prise him with a move away from the Emirates Stadium but Arsenal have won the race to keep him.

English League One giants Sunderland are reportedly keen on signing Queens Park Rangers (QPR) defender Todd Kane this summer. This is according to the publication from London Football News which stated that Kane is on the way out of QPR in the English Championship and that the Black Cats want to sign him. He could be the replacement for Conor McLaughlin at the Stadium of Light.
