Fleetwood Town once again have the ability to field defender Conor McLaughlinafter the player was unavailable in the last fortnight due to his commitments with the Northern Ireland national team.McLaughlin is one of the star players in the Fleetwood Town squad and it is not surprising that he was called up for the international duty. The team has had a rough couple of matches with some narrow defeats against the likes of Chesterfield and Peterborough United. The team has the possibility to return to form by securing a victory against Swindon Town.
It is easier said than done since Fleetwood Town have managed only one win in the last four home matches. A major selection headache for manager Martin Ling will be the inclusion of loan players. Since the football league does not allow the inclusion of more than five players, who are on loan, at a club into the matchday squad, Ling will have to make some tough choices for the Swindon match. One player who is most likely to be involved isTariqeFosu, who impressed after coming on as a sub in the defeat against Peterborough United. Adam El-Abd, Ben Gladwin, Louis Thompson, Wes Thomas, Lawrence Vigouroux and Jordan Turnbull are the other loan players at the club.
Hence, one of them will miss out and it is unlikely to be Fosu. “There were five involved (on Saturday), Louis Thompson comes back next week and makes six, so how do we work that one out? I might just have to draw them out of a hat,”said Ling. Danny Andrew has been suffering from a groin injury of late, but he is likely to return. He got 90 minutes under his belt in the recent match by the development squad against Preston.Striker David Ball’s goal against Peterborough could see him continue in the starting line-up.
