STERRY HOPING TO MAKE MARK AT CREWE

Posted on February 26, 2019 in Millwall

Newcastle United young defender Jamie Sterry has agreed on a loan deal that will see him represent Crewe Alex in the Sky Bet League One until the end of the season and he is bringing his dogs along!

Sterry has found game time difficult to come by at Newcastle United this season in the Premier League and has been shipped out on loan to Crewe – a club he has initially played for in the past.

The Englishman spent the second half of last season on loan at Crewe, under similar circumstances at his parent club Newcastle United and is already a huge fan favourite at the League One club.

The 23 year old was warmly received by the fans during his re-introduction on the pitch before the win at Colchester last time out and the player seemed really delighted at the treatment he received.

Crewe head coach David Artell made a revelation that many clubs from higher divisions were keen on signing Sterry but decided to move to Crewe, because he holds the club close to his heart.

Sterry had a good experience playing for Crewe in the second half of last season and has now been granted his wish – to play at Gresy Road once again.

On his return to Crewe, Sterry spoke highly of the club, revealing that once he was told to leave on loan, there was only one club on his mind. He thanked the fans for the support they showed him during his previous spell and hoped for more of the same.

The Irishman could only manage nine appearances for Crewe last year as his time at the club was hampered by injuries.

Jamie Sterry will now be looking to set the record straight, starting by gaining a spot in David Artell’s starting lineup.
